Nothing is more important than the safety of our children. With this in mind, the Town of Hempstead has established a free Child Car Seat Safety Check Program.

Hempstead Town's certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will inspect and properly install child car safety seats and instruct guardians on their proper installation. Appointments must be scheduled in advance. Please call the Department of Public Safety at (516) 538-1900, extension 217, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. to schedule an appointment. You may also complete the appointment request form below and a Public Safety Officer will contact you at your daytime phone number upon review, usually the next business day.

Beginning June 2, inspections will be conducted twice weekly in various communities throughout Hempstead Town. Please review the summer schedule below to find a location nearest you. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., by appointment only.
