Summer of Love

Adopt your "Fur-Ever" Friend this Summer

There's no better time to adopt a new pet than during "Summer of Love" at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter. From June 25th through September 5th, all pet adoptions fees are waived and include free spaying/neutering, vaccinations and microchipping.

Throw a Dog a Bone- Bring a Pet Home

Summer is a great time of year to adopt. Long days provide ample opportunity to frolic outdoors with your new dog. And, a cat will enjoy the warmth of the sun on a windowsill perch. The shelter is located at 3320 Beltagh Avenue in Wantagh, and is open for adoptions Tuesday through Sunday. Click here for adoption hours.

Gifts for your B.F.F. (Best Furry Friend)

We are fortunate in the Town of Hempstead to have so many dedicated partners in the pet community. Several local businesses are donating great gifts for newly adopted pets. Dog Grooming by Rachel in Bellmore is providing a coupon for one free grooming for dogs. Island Trees Veterinary Hospital will provide a coupon for a free exam and $25 towards veterinary services. And, Fido Fitness Club in Woodmere will provide a coupon for one free training class.
