Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray is partnering with Harley Davidson of Nassau County to celebrate Valentine’s Day with couples who share the special bond of “Biker Love” – a passion for cruising the open road, the roar of the engines and bugs in their teeth.
Murray will officiate the weddings and vow renewals of eight couples, replete with their motorcycles, at a special “Biker Love” ceremony to kick off Valentine’s Day weekend on Friday, February 13th at Harley Davidson of Nassau County.
“Before revving up their engines for Valentine’s Day, the motorcycle-riding couples will be making a memorable pit stop at Harley Davidson of Nassau County on February 13th,” Murray said. “Celebrate ‘Biker Love’ with fellow couples who share the spirit of two-wheeled adventure.”
A chapel of “Biker Love” will be assembled at the Harley Davidson dealership, featuring a motorcycle-line aisle, life-sized murals of the loving couples, a pink, white and red festooned arbor, stunning floral arrangements and a cornucopia of other Valentine-themed decorations.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Hempstead Town to host this special Valentine’s Day event,” said Lawrence Altholtz, owner of Harley Davidson of Nassau County. “It will truly be an afternoon to remember for couples who share an abiding love for motorcycles and one another.”
The festivities are scheduled to kick off in “biker” style at 11 a.m. as the couples take to the “open road,” cruising on their motorcycles for a procession from Newbridge Road Park on 2600 Newbridge Road in Bellmore to the nearby Harley Davidson of Nassau County on 2428 West Sunrise Highway (just east of Newbridge Road) in Bellmore. Weddings and vow renewal ceremonies will commence immediately following the procession, at about 11:30 a.m.
At Harley-Davidson, couples will be feted to a festive biker-themed reception, which will include chili, hot dogs, corn chips, non-alcoholic beer and other engine-revving refreshments provided by Stop & Shop. Each couple at the ceremony and reception will receive a rose (courtesy of Stop & Shop), a celebratory toast, a delicious wedding cake (furnished by A Taste of Home Bakery, Café and Sweet Shop) and a “honeymoon” gift (compliments of Harley-Davidson of Nassau County).
Though all spots have been booked for the ceremony and reception at Harley Davidson of Nassau County, riders are welcome to partake in the “Biker Love” motorcycle wedding procession, which meets at 11 a.m. at Newbridge Road Park.
Hempstead Town’s “Biker Love” Valentine’s Day event would not be possible without the generosity of sponsors Harley-Davidson of Nassau County, Stop & Shop, A Taste of Home Bakery and Sweet Shop (North Bellmore) and Wick’s Florist (Baldwin).
“This Valentine’s Day, Cupid’s arrow will strike at Harley Davidson of Nassau County,” Murray said. “Our couples will enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime biker-themed celebration full of love and adventure!”
