Top flight instruction paired with affordable prices are the hallmarks of Hempstead Town’s popular Lacrosse Academy. Long Island’s finest coaches will team with All American players to work with youngsters from 5 to 15 years of age throughout the summer clinics. Weekly instruction, available in both the morning and afternoon, will allow players to sharpen their shooting, passing, catching and defending skills.
“As the popularity of lacrosse skyrockets across the country, the importance of effective instruction has never been more important to a youngster’s development,” stated Supervisor Anthony J. Santino. “Our game plan is a proven winner, and summer after the summer, the lacrosse academy is improving players and impressing parents.”
Once again, the Lacrosse Academy will be offering on-line registration this season. To register in advance for any of the lacrosse academy’s weekly clinics, simply log-on to toh.li/activities/lacrosse-academy and fill out the application form. On-line registration will secure a spot in a particular clinic. Once the application is completed on-line, there will be a five day period to submit payment to the TOH Lacrosse Academy, 200 North Franklin Street, Hempstead, New York 11550.
Nearly 1,500 youngsters graduated with honors from last summer’s Town of Hempstead Lacrosse Academy and a championship caliber staff of renowned coaches and outstanding players is ready to impart expert instruction on lacrosse fundamentals and strategies.
Again this summer, the Lacrosse Academy will host two-hour morning instruction for 5 and 6 year-olds in partnership with the traditional three-hour clinics for youngsters 7 to 15 years of age. The clinics for 5 and 6 year-olds run from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The sessions for ages 7 to 15 are set from 9 a.m. to noon (9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Averill Blvd. Park Clinic from August 1 to 4). Evening sessions from 6 to 9 p.m. will be open to youngsters from 6 to 15 years of age.
Two-hour clinics for ages 5 & 6 are priced at $66 per child, the three-hour clinics are priced at $77 per youngster. There is a reduced rate of $55 for additional family members at both the two-hour and three-hour clinics. Lacrosse Academy programs are offered to Town of Hempstead residents ONLY. All payments must be made in the form of check or money order payable to the Town of Hempstead.

Again this summer, TOHLA will offer one-on-one training to benefit the novice player, right through the highly skilled youngster. Training can also be detailed to cover a specific position (including goalie) and that position’s necessary skill set. Rates for the one-on-one training are set at $38.50 per hour with a special $99 fee for a series of three lessons. There is a special $27.50 per hour rate for youngsters who register with a group of two to five players. Sessions can be scheduled from Monday to Friday at a town park of the player’s choosing. The hours are flexible and appointments are required in advance. Call the academy office at 516-783-3208 to book an appointment.
In addition to on-line registration, completed registration applications, with appropriate payment, will be accepted by mail or in-person.
