Hempstead Town Senior Councilwoman Dorothy L. Goosby is proud to present the 14thAnnual Breast Cancer Forum. The Forum will be held on October 29thfrom 12-4 p.m. at the Nathan L.H. Bennett Pavilion, One Washington Street in Hempstead. Senior Councilwoman urges woman of all ages to attend and to bring friends as well.
“Breast Cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women and the second leading cause of death among women,” commented Goosby. “For fourteen years I’ve watched the crowds at this event grow. I am pleased that we’re spreading awareness to an ever-expanding audience. At the same time, I am saddened that we have not yet conquered breast cancer, but I am undaunted in my quest to beat this disease.”
This event is sponsored by the Iota Theta Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Isalmic Center of Long Island, Nassau County Interdenominational Ministers’ Wives & Ministers’ Widows Association, Affinity Health Plan, The Little Black Book, Inc. and Bethpage Federal Credit Union.
The forum includes speakers from various health-related facilities, breast cancer coalitions, hospitals, outreach programs and breast cancer survivors. Light refreshments will also be available.
