In the face of plummeting temperatures, Hempstead Town Councilman Anthony D’Esposito has announced the opening of 15 warming centers throughout America’s largest township from Wednesday, December 27th through Friday, December 29th. Councilman D’Esposito made the announcement at the Oceanside Senior Center – one of the 15 warming centers – and was joined by Councilman Bruce Blakeman, Councilman Dennis Dunne and some local senior citizens taking advantage of the warmth indoors.

“With temperatures dropping below freezing over the next several days, it can be very dangerous to remain outdoors for an extended period of time,” stated Councilman D’Esposito. “That is why we are opening 15 warming centers across the Town of Hempstead, where residents can enjoy some warmth, camaraderie and a hot beverage.”
